Door Wraps

What Is Vinyl Wrapped Doors?

Vinyl wrap doors are made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) panels that are coated in a coating of tough vinyl. This combination results in substantially more durable doors than standard solid wood choices. They are renowned for their exceptional endurance and resistance to harm. Choosing vinyl wrap  doors can save you money when compared to the expense of full remodel. These doors are not only a cost-effective solution, but they also have a long lifespan, which means you won’t have to replace them as regularly.
Vinyl is practically waterproof and easy to clean, making it an ideal choice for kitchen applications. It is also extremely durable, withstanding dents and dings significantly better than solid wood. Because of these characteristics, vinyl wrap kitchen doors are becoming increasingly popular, especially in busy or tiny kitchens where accidents are more prone to occur.

Seamless Edged Vinyl Wrapped Doors

Wrap It Baby’s seamless edged vinyl wrap doors are carefully constructed to give a high-quality finish. Here’s an in-depth look at our process
01
Preparation
The first process is to prepare the substrate material, which is commonly medium-density fibre board (MDF) or another engineered wood. The substrate is cut to the correct form, and the edge and face profiles are precisely routed to create an ideal basis for the vinyl wrap.
02
Vinyl Film Application
Next, a vinyl film is chosen from our extensive selection of colors, patterns, and textures. This vinyl film, which comes in rolls and has an adhesive backing, is carefully put to the surface of the prepared substrate.
03
Vacuum Pressing
The substrate with coated vinyl is then put in a vacuum press. This press consists of a heated chamber with a mold that is the same form as the door. The chamber is closed, and the vacuum press is triggered.
04
Heating & Molding
As the temperature in the vacuum press rises, the vinyl film softens and begins to adapt to the shape of the mold and substrate. The vacuum presses the vinyl closely against the substrate, eliminating air bubbles and resulting in a smooth, seamless surface.
05
Cooling and settings
Once the vinyl has been precisely molded to the substrate, open the vacuum press and remove the door. The vinyl cools and sets, leaving a tight connection with the substrate. This procedure keeps the vinyl wrap securely bonded and resistant to peeling or delamination.
06
Trimming and finishing

After the vinyl wrap has cured, any extra vinyl is removed from the edges with specialized equipment. The edges are curved and smoothed to give the impression of a continuous surface. At this point, any holes or cuts for hardware, such as handles and hinges, are drilled or routed into the doors
